We undertook an independent survey of specific Doosan Babcock operations at the Baltic Business Centre site in Gateshead at the request of management. The key objective of this DSEAR survey was to determine whether operations under review were subject to duties within the Dangerous Substances Explosive Atmosphere Regulations (DSEAR) – and to comment on relevant hazards and control measures employed on-site. Supporting information was provided by site management Processing of NORM waste and residues is commonplace in the oil and gas industry and there is a reasonable amount of data available on which to base judgements in relation to DSEAR and waste disposal requirements.. The key findings linked to DSEAR requirements were discussed in the detailed report and the risk assessment provided to the client.
